Your Family is Not your Family.
The world you have lived in up til now is an ugly sham.

Your real Friends
Your real Family
are spread far and wide across the face of america
they live by night like Charleton Heston
to avoid detection by daytime vampires

Blink twice if you understand.

There's Duck and there's Mickey. They're the kids of America and it's the 80s apocalypse. They hate their parents and there's no point in algebra. It's all guitars, girls, love, fury, heartbreak and noise noise noise. Punk is their escape from suburbia and it's like nothing they have ever heard.

Press

"Tom Hughes's well-acted production generates just the right spirit, pitched between a lively sense of the ridiculous and an unblunted empathy with the raging energies and underlying sadness of adolescence" - Paul Taylor, THE INDEPENDENT

WHATSONSTAGE video preview (featuring interviews with the cast and myself)

"Hughes's direction, as you'd expect from someone who's worked with Rufus Norris and Carrie Cracknell, creates a sharp and atmospheric tone that balances the heartfelt and eccentric moments well" - THE REVIEWS HUB

"Hughes' intelligent production sings its own odd song" - Natasha Tripney, THE STAGE

“Moss knows, Hughes knows, I know that music can change everything. In embracing that fact, punkplay transforms and becomes vital, heart-pumping, dizzyingly special.” - Maddy Costa, EXEUNT
